Day in the life of this homeschool family.

I am doing this to link up with iHomeschoolNetwork.
I love the idea of being a "fly on the wall" in the
homes of other homeschool families!

Everyday is not the same for us.
This is what our schedule looks like this year:

Monday we have Classical Conversations and Scouts.
Tuesday is cleaning day and family movie/game night.
Wednesday is Chapel with Ninja at school and Church in the evenings.
Thursday is shopping day and Sissy's night out.
Fridays are our catch up day.
Saturday we don't do "book work" but we do life skills,
science projects, co-op family days, or art projects since Daddy is home.
Sunday is church, family day, and rest.

This is a typical first half of most of our days!

6:45 Time to get up and get going!
Make beds, brush teeth, have breakfast, and tidy up the house.

Take Ninja to kindergarten.
(Yes, my youngest is rebellious and wanted to go to kindergarten ;)
Then it is off to the house school we go!

We have morning meetings each day.
Monday is always our big meeting to cover the week.

The first thing we do is journals.
It lets the kiddos get warmed up.

Then it is on to book work!
Sissy was doing computer work since
she is working on a power point.

We get in our reading time after daily work is turned in.
After we are done with all of that, it is about time to pick up Ninja.
He only goes to school 1/2 a day!

It's lunch time when we get home.
Don't be disappointed but we watch a tv show with lunch. lol
We have shows that we record each day.
It was Monday so we watched Cupcake Wars from Sunday night. ;)

It's free time after lunch.
The kids normally want to go outside if it is pretty.
The trampoline is always an energy buster. ;)

Most afternoons and evenings are very busy.
We have something pretty much everyday.

We do group studies on the afternoons that we are home.
(Normally Tuesdays)
This is where all the kids learn the same thing.
We did world geography all summer. It was a huge hit.
We are starting the school year off with etiquette.
I am not getting as much excitement from the kids. lol

Then it is time for showers, dinner, and evening activities!
That's pretty much it for us!
I cant wait to see all the link ups!

What a great day in the life. I recorded four of our days this week, but have only managed to post three days on my blog so far. Like you said, every day is different.
Blessings, Dawn

Aha! The TV comes on at someone else's homeschool. I knew I wasn't alone.

Thanks for sharing your day. We're unschoolers in Australia and love hearing about other homeschoolers' lives and meeting them as we travel!

We're breakfast tv-watchers here...mostly so that my youngest will take a break from spelling at me long enough to check my email and eat unassisted. :)
