Heritage Wall

So the "decor" post did just what I wanted it to! It inspired.
My heritage wall got a lot of attention and a few
questions so I decided to do a post for it!
My great grandmother passed away at 103 last year.
All of the kids got to meet her but Sissy is the only one
that really remembered her because the boys were so young.

The kids see pictures of their great grandparents but sometimes they don't recognize who they are. So this sparked and idea. I gathered pictures of all mine and Hubby's parents, grandparents, and my great grandmother and made a heritage wall. This is helping the kids to get familiar with their faces and they already notice them in other pictures when looking through albums.

Plus, it just makes me smile to see a wall full of faces that my husband and I love.

Here are a few more pictures.

I am sorry about the lights.
This wall is right beside a window and and chandelier... lol
My camera is dead so these are IPhone pictures.

This is a project that will continue to grow
as I gather more of my favorite pictures of the family.

This is really neat! The little baby in the dress looks like Sissy!

My friends have a wall like this of their wedding pictures and then the wedding pictures of their parents and grandparents. It's a really sweet idea.

This is great. I love finding out neat things about my ancestors and seeing their pictures on the wall can help us remember how awesome they were. I am still (always) working on putting pictures up in my house and I need to do a wall like this. Great job!

I LOVE this idea! I totally going to do this when we move into a bigger house with more available wall space.
At my wedding reception I had a display of my mom and both of my grandmas on their wedding days next to my bridal portrait. I meant to display them in my house afterwards but my mom snatched them up and put them in her house! I guess I'll need to have copies made ;)

Stopping by from Tip Junkie!

Love this! I want to start adding in more extended family photos to our gallery wall. Such a great way to include family members our daughter will never have had the chance to meet.

Your heritage wall is beautiful! We have a Wedding wall in our dining room. I love it. In the center is Hubby & I, with my Grandparents above us. On both sides are our parents wedding photos, followed by all of our siblings. It makes for lovely conversations, and makes me feel we are always surrounded by our family.
