Green Smoothie Re-visit.

I was so surprised to see how many comments and emails
I got about being scared to try a green smoothie.

Try this:

Make your FAVORITE smoothie and add a good handful of fresh spinach. Try it. I honestly can not even taste the green. After you see if you like it, change it up a bit. Add some protein or take away some sugar. I always add banana or use apple juice (in the place of water) for the kids to sweeten it up for them. Yogurt is great for a creamy smoothie.

So if you are scared, give it a try today! Come back and tell me how it goes!

Def planning to try this out! Never thought of spinach but it is always a staple in my kitchen. Might be able to get the kiddo to try it if it is disquised as a smoothie.

I never make smmothies because one of my kids can't have milk. Reading this made me think-duh-why don't I give them both almond milk! Thanks for the green idea Mama!

Every morning I make a protein smoothie for my 2 1/2 year old monkey and I to share for breakfast. We do unsweetened chocolate almond milk, protein powder, frozen banana, a handful of fresh baby spinach, and lots of ice. You really can't taste the spinach, so I agree.. try the green smoothies! :)

I've heard of them but never have tried them. I cook with Spinach a lot. Ok I will try :)

They make healthy homemade popsicles, too. I always use either spinach or kale. I have boys, so of course we call them slime-sicles or grass popsicles, etc. (=

OK, so when I do my grocery shopping this week I am going to get spinach to try this out. If I love it I'll come back and tell you and if I hate it... well I'll still come tell you. :)

ahhh green doesn't scare me :) but great tips for making it less frightening! I know that my uncle had a power smoothie the other day from the brand, Naked. It was SOO good and totally GREEN!!! but it sure was tasty, so I didn't mind the color!

I always throw a handful of spinach in my smoothies ... it's so true that you really can't taste it!

I am a big fan of spinach in smoothies. Actually I add spinach to almost everything (burgers, meat balls, eggs, enchiladas...)

I use OJ instead of apple juice when I make smoothies.

I have also added tofu for a little added protein.
